Who is "Lime Green Sweater?"

His heir of nonchalance is surpassed only by his mysterious nature. He comes and goes like a gentle tide. Once you see him you can't help but be amazed. I am talking about, of course, Lime Green Sweater.

If you have not had the fortune of observing LGS in his natural habitat, or heard stories of his legendary status from regulars in the student section, let me briefly explain what we do know about him. Lime Green Sweater was a regular at big conference games in the Carolina First Arena last year. For games against Davidson, Citadel and Wofford he would show up in the same seat, clad in his trademark apparel. Seems normal enough right? Probably a season ticket holder or CofC alum who goes to watch the most entertaining games.

Only, his seat is behind the opposing bench. He sits deep in the pack of seats reserved for fans of the visiting team. While this in itself is enough to raise an eyebrow, Lime Green Sweater's claim to fame is this: he always cheers for CofC's opponent. You read that correctly. No matter which of the teams listed earlier is playing, LGS applauds their biggest plays and throws his arms in frustration when the Cougars score. The cherry on top is that he has a myriad of obnoxious gestures and pelvic gyrations that he whips out like ninja stars whenever "his" team scores. They enrage students and horrify the children.

After a brief hiatus, Lime Green Sweater made his 2011 debut against App State on Saturday. The question proposed in the title asks "who is this mysterious man?" Was he rejected from the College years ago and now seeks his revenge? Did he attend Citadel, transfer to Wofford and seek his masters at Davidson? What could cause a grown man to hate the CofC mens basketball team so much?

I don't know how to answer these questions, but I am determined to find out. After the break you'll find evidence of Lime Green Sweater's bizarre and aggressive behavior.

Amid cheers from students and fans, Clyde goes to investigate why LGS attends games just to boo the College

Lime Green Sweater reacted violently and requested that Clyde be escorted off the premises.Yes, he actually tried to get the school mascot thrown out of a basketball game.
