The second half of conference play begins tonight for the Cougars as they get a chance at sweeping the series with Furman. The next two home games are against fellow Socon South division teams and a win today as well as Saturday against Wofford would go a long way in helping us keep our heads above water in the race for the 2S seed.
If the Cougs want to remain competitive and a little bit formidable to their opponents, this game is a must win. Furman is decent for a Southern Conference team but they are far from a polished product. Defeating them on the 7th was a solid victory but it didn't take away from the sting of that Wofford loss. Now Cremins has a whole different starting lineup and rotation and the game will likely look very dissimilar to the one played in Greenville.
Matt Sundberg will once again get the start but we could see a little Baru action if we're lucky. Being that Trent has been playing on a swollen ankle all year, I wouldn't put it past the athletic staff to put Baru in the game, and have him play significant minutes if we're losing.
Again, this game really is important for us to not fall too far behind in the increasingly disappointing South division. In the words of the late Al Davis, "just win baby". Go Cougars!
